What is Ecclesia?

Ecclesia is an Affirming Pastors & Leaders Network that serves as a bridge uniting clergy, culture, and community.

Is joining Ecclesia the same as joining the United Progressive Pentecostal Church Fellowship (UPPC)?

Though Ecclesia is a branch of UPPC, membership in Ecclesia is separate from being a recognized member of the UPPC. Individuals who seek to be members of UPPC must complete the formal application process. Membership in both organizations is encouraged but not required.

What is UPPC?

The United Progressive Pentecostal Church (UPPC) is an inclusive, global network of churches and ministries pioneering a blend of traditional Pentecostalism with progressive principles of inclusion, social justice, and community engagement. Founded in 2007 by Bishop Oliver Clyde Allen, III, as an idea to champion a diverse, affirming theology that emphasizes the work of the Holy Spirit, the pursuit of justice and peace for all, and the unconditional love of Jesus Christ for every individual, irrespective of race, gender, socio-economic status, or sexual orientation. By the fall of 2009, UPPC was birthed and recognized as an organization, and celebrated its Inaugural Holy Convocation. With its headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia, UPPC is committed to empowering believers to be effective disciples of Christ, encouraging a rich tapestry of God's creation to reach their full redemptive potential.

Is there a membership fee for UPPC?

Yes, joining UPPC as a recognized member involves a non-refundable yearly investment. The initial investment would serve your application fee, and your first year's assessment upon approval.This contribution supports our mission to empower, equip, and encourage Christian believers worldwide.

How do I apply for UPPC membership?

The journey to UPPC membership begins with a formal application process. Interested individuals are invited to reach out to our Intake and Recruitment Department (uppcintake@gmail.com) to receive all necessary application materials and guidance on the next steps. Be encouraged, as our team is here to support you through every stage of your application.

Can I join UPPC if I'm part of Ecclesia?

Yes, while Ecclesia offers a broad community for mentorship and engagement, joining UPPC requires a separate formal application process. Membership in Ecclesia does not automatically confer membership in UPPC, but individuals are encouraged to be part of both to fully experience our inclusive and progressive spiritual journey.

Who can join Ecclesia?

Anyone! Ecclesia is a community for clergy, community leaders, as well as any human who is seeking Cultural influencers mentorship within an Affirming Community as well as joining the work to make our world more progressive for everyone!

Is there a Price to join Ecclesia?

Membership within the Ecclesia community requires a non-refundable yearly investment of $250. Members within the UPPC will have a discounted investment of $99.
